Jerry the amazing camp cook

My Dirt Time Jerry is amazing! Jerry loves being the camp cook and he does a heck of a job of it. Of course I always like preparedness so I brought enough food for myself and a few extras to share. However, with Jerry and his separate 60 pound food pack, I think I touched my own food just once or twice. For my winter camping equipment list I had an MRE, and some backpacker dehydrated foods. I also had some munchies and candy. The only thing I remember eating of my own food was the Albacor tuna. While backpacking and camping you donít just have to bring backpacker type food. Go to your local grocery store and check out the packaged foods like the tuna and chicken in the foil packets. Theyíre light and taste great.

Anyway, back to amazing Jerry. This breakfast was absolutely amazing. Being an out of shape 40 year old guy I would never have a heart clogging breakfast like this, but this was the perfect breakfast for the winter camping. He had eggs, sausage, bacon, onions (I think) and tons of cheese. There might have been even more good food in there, I donít recall, but all mixed up, it was great! Again that is another great thing about these survival camping trips. I have hung out with Jerry a few times now and he is a great guy. Everyone has their own ďspecialtiesĒ Iíll call them. One guy is the camp cook, one guy is the loner, one guy or more are the survival guruís, another guy is the quiet guy and another is the joker. Man! I need to do this more often. It's not about the END OF THE WORLD - It's not about surviving a hypothetical PLANE CRASH - It's about the SATISFACTION YOU GET knowing you can take care of yourself and/or your family in ANY SITUATION, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE!
