Scout Challenge - Troop 179 Kansas City

A few months ago, we decided to hold a Scout Challenge through our Facebook page. We had asked for troops from all over the country to send us their information and tell us a little bit about their troop. We received an overwhelming response from troops wanting to participate! Ultimately, we ended up choosing 10 troops for the Scout Challenge. Each of these troops were sent 9 fire starting items, ranging from fire starters to tinders. The troops were asked to take photos of their use of the fire starting materials, as well has give brief reviews of each item and state which ones worked well together.

The reviews below are from Boy Scout Troop 179 out of Kansas City, MO. Here is what the troop had to say about the items they received:

1. Really cool never seen these before
2. The orange Sparkie was cool
3. I really liked the Wetfire tabs and the Sparkie
4. My favorite was the Jute string and the Doan magnesium
5. I liked the Tinder Quik and the Sparkie the best
6. I want the Strike master
7. My favorite was the Wetfire tinder , the Jute string and the Sparkie

Thank you all so much for the Fire starting items for our Scout challenge. I would personally rate all 9 items as 10s. The boys had a great time and the other leaders thought this was one of our best demonstrations
